Non-locality BAH, or BAH II (RC/T), is one of several types of Basic Housing Allowance. Each created to satisfy a specific housing need for military members in varying situations. Generally, BAH depends on location, pay grade, and dependents. Usually you receive BAH for where you are assigned, not for where you live.

Non-locality BAH for Reserve Component/Transient (RC/Transient)

Housing can be a challenging aspect of military life; PCS orders and frequent moves can add stress to a military move. BAH was designed to ensure that adequate and affordable housing is always available for soldiers and military families. 2016 Basic Allowance for Housing rates took effect January 1, 2016.
